Sugar Ray's Lemonade & Brownies CD
Reviews

They Had So Much Potential Before They Sold Out, March 25, 2000

Sugar Ray could have been the next Faith No More or Red Hot Chili Peppers, but they chose to take the pop path. This album demonstrates the fact that Sugar Ray actually was a funk metal band and deserve commercial success. Not the commercial success like "Fly," "Someday," or "Every Morning," mind you. I'm talking the Korn kind. They were so amazing back before 14:59. This CD has some awesome points, some funny points, and some insanely stupid parts. The best songs are "10 Seconds", "The Greatest," and "Mean Machine." I really hate "Dance Party U.S.A.," though. It was kind of refreshing to find out that Sugar Ray had some talent in the first place. Other bands I'd recommend are 311, Jimmie's Chicken Shack, and 24-7 Spyz. Maybe sometime in the distant future, Sugar Ray will become what they left behind: Heavy. I'm praying, are you?

Sugar Ray's first CD is a bit dissapointing but still good., May 3, 2000

I thought I knew Sugar Ray. Then I ordered this CD. I was shocked when I saw the cover and the Parental Advisory on it. Sugar Ray has sure changed a lot, haven't they? They're new CD, 14:59, is full of great party tunes like "Someday," "Every Morning," and "Abracadabra." This CD, however, is loading with screaming hard-rock tunes and roaring guitars. That's the problem with this CD, though, they concentrate too much on the guitar riffs than the actual lyrics. The best songs on this CD are "Snug Harbor," "Rhyme Stealer," "Mean Machine," and "Streaker."

This cd is pure alternative!!, January 16, 2002

wow!! this cd is really good, and the songs just rock. it's too bad that sugar ray had to change there sound, and sell out to the teenybopper fans. songs like mean machine, iron mic, dance party u.s.a, and 10 seconds down just rule. i really wish that sugar ray would make another cd that sounded like lemonade and brownies.

Best Sugar Ray CD Ever, December 1, 2001

This is the best Sugar Ray cd ever, it is before they sold out into the pop band that they are today. Almost all the songs are hardcore rock songs, and then "Drive By" is a hilarious track that is just fun to listen to. "Hold Your Eyes", "Danzig Needs A Hug" and "Scuzzboots" are a bit more soft rock than the others. Most people who only like Sugar Ray's pop stuff and have never heard their older songs would most likely be shocked at this cd.
